Blog 5
Web 2.0 in the classroom is now very important in the classroom. Web 2.0 allows students and people to share more easily. An example of this would be a blog. This is helpful in the classroom because it is easier for kids to stay on top of their work while being able to share their work with everyone else in the classroom. YouTube is super helpful because kids can learn by watching videos that people from all over put on the web. Another tool to use in the classroom is Twitter. Twitter allows students to summarize with a short restriction. Its easy and you can also follow people who will benefit you learning. The web is very dangerous. It is a concern for many teachers. However, as long as teachers stay on top of it and work on monitoring kids work, you should have very little to no problems.
A Web 2.0 tool that I have used myself in the classroom is Edmodo. It is a great and safe way to discuss topics with your class. You can post your own discussions and easily reply to posts! The teacher has clear access to monitor and be in charge of what happens on the page. Also, you can even like posts on the page if you don;t have time to reply to one but you still want to acknowledge the work your classmate did. This website also gives you notification in case you might forget if something is due. It is a great way for students to collaborate outside of the classroom.
I believe that electronic paper is one of the biggest advancements in technology for education today. Ebooks and being able to have your textbook online or on an app of your phone is so convenient for a lot of students. This way if you are out and not by you textbook for example at an airport and you want to get some work done, you can just pull it up. Electronic paper will so small and light no one should ever have a problem bringing theor work with them. It could help so many students who complain that they do not have enough time to get their work done.
